3.4 billion tonnes of carbon is equivalent to about 14 years of Malaysia’s current total CO2 emissions. The IPCC Glossary defines carbon sinks as a reservoir (natural or human, in soil, ocean, and plants) where a GHG, an aerosol or a precursor of a greenhouse gas is stored. FSC is Forest Stewardship Council; RSPO is Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil; NDPE is No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation.
